quiet time haircuts
Chatting when you go to the hairdresser seems to be one of the social norms, but for someone who prefers quiet enjoyment it may at times be a little uncomfortable. This need not be. Some of us long to enjoy having a beautiful haircut without having to be “on”. We’d like to relax, let go and absorb ourselves in the experience like we would a great symphony or a beautifully prepared meal. But how do we arrange such a thing in a way that feels good for everyone? Easy, go to a stylist who gets it, someone who enjoys quiet time as much as you do. I’m one of those. I like conversation, I also like quiet. Like many artists (I’m also a sculptor and poet) I’m somewhat of introvert, so quietly focusing on my work is very normal and comfortable for me. I also know great art requires peace, focus and concentration. This is not to say I never chat or I don’t enjoy conversation, I do, but I never allow the conversation to take priority over the haircut (and I never gossip). Conversation can happen, as can quiet, whatever feels right at the time is what’s right. We will discuss all important matters regarding your hairstyle, once that is complete, you’ll enjoy a great haircut, soft music and a peaceful atmosphere while I enjoy doing what I do best. Please request this service when you book with me. You can also just mention to me before the haircut that you'd enjoy just being quiet for a while. Don't worry one bit, I get it. I have been a meditator for 30 years, so quiet is just more than okay.
Mondays are a good day for quiet haircuts as I am usually in the salon by myself.
